Perma Bond Aid

POLYMER BASED CEMENTITIOUS COMPOUND FOR CREATING MECHANICAL KEY FOR RENDERING AND SUBSEQUENT FINISHES ON DIFFICULT SURFACES

DESCRIPTION

Perma Bond Aid is a polymer based free flowing cementitious powder, which when mixed with water forms a mortar. This mortar is applied on difficult and non porous surfaces such as granite slabs, smooth RCC surfaces, concrete walls etc and combed with a notch trowel to create a mechanical key for further renderings and for using adhesives etc.
Perma Bond Aid

PRIMARY USES

Perma Bond Aid finds its utility in rendering, stone fixing jobs and also when plastering on unhacked surfaces. Dense and non absorptive stones are often difficult to fix with regular cement mortar, so is the case with fixing of door and window frames of granites and other natural stones. A mechanical key if created helps in fixing these stones easily. Vitrified tiles of large dimension because of their non absorptive nature are also difficult to fix. In this case the mechanical key created by Perma Bond Aid becomes an economical and effective means for fixing these tiles.

ADVANTAGES

Single component product, needs just addition of water, on site just before use. Hence it is easy to use. Product is economical as against epoxies which are used for creating mechanical key. The product is eco friendly.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

  • Clean the surface to be treated to remove any oily or greasy contaminations by thoroughly washing it and allow it to dry. Ensure that the back of the tile or the stone which is going to be treated is also clean and sound. Add water to Perma Bond Aid in the proportion of 150 ml to 180ml (Depending on the sur face condition) water to one kg powder and mix thoroughly. Apply this paste on the back of the tile or stone surface with a trowel evenly. Using a notch trowel of 10mm, comb the surface to get uniform grooves and allow the paste to dry for 72 hours. If the surface which is supposed to receive the tile or cladding is also difficult or smooth, then do the same procedure on the surface as well and allow it to dry for 72 hours. Apply tile adhesive or fixing mortar on to the back of the tile or stone as well as on to the surface to be tiled or cladded and press the tile in position.
  • Mix Perma Bond Aid with water 3.5 times of Powder to 1 volume of water and mix the same to a smooth paste consistency. Apply the mix using a notch trowel oat on to the smooth concrete surface and allow it to dry. On the hardened Perma Bond Aid surface apply normal plaster as per regular application procedure.
